Looking for toddler girl clothes essentials ideas with no unicorns or fairies? I am too.
Here is our edit of random things we have been buying for her, in reverse chronological order (shared from my Instagram Stories).
Toddler Girl White Sandals
Cost £8. I bought next few sizes as they will always come in handy.
Roll neck top
I found these online and ordered the navy and the burgundy for nursery (dark and easy to wash) and we liked them so much, we bought other colours. There are softer colours in this model (we bought the beige and the light blue).
Snood
Costs £10 from Zara
We love the snoods from Zara – and our daughter does too. Current size is 1-5, so we hope to get a lot of wear.
We also rate the snoods from Kidly, which some with matching simpler hats.
We chose green for the ‘stay at nursery kit’ (i.e. items that don’t come back home) and we added a rain suit as well.
Rain boots for toddlers
We like this pair from Kidly and also bought a cheaper navy pair of wellies from John Lewis (to stay at nursery for just £10)
Corduroy trousers
These are fully lined from H&M and really good for everyday. They also have them in green which is one of our colours this season.
Polar fleece leggings (really lovely). If you live in colder countries, may be worth checking out the fleece lined trousers (in navy).
Skirts and shorts
Corduroy navy skirt (on repeat this year as so good).
We love these paperbag corduroy skirts (on sale now). There is also a short version (instead of skirt, which we really like too)
Dresses
Love this dark green dress (we bought for next year due to size availability)
We also got this denim dress with a collar which looks great with a cardigan. A friend gifted us one last year and its definitely one look that really suits our little one.
Jumpers and cardigans
A repeat from last year – we bought it again as she really looked lovely in it.
We also bought these simple cardigans for everyday in a variety of colours.
And this very nice cardigan (which last and wash very well) is also back from last season.
Blouses and shirts
We have bought this blouse in a variety of colours before – current colours are now pink and green and under £10.
Gingham blouse (it really is lovely)
Wide neck jumper (available also in pink)
Day bag
We have made 2 transitions (one from the large Storksak nappy bag to the matching pram organiser (which we filled up to the brim, absolutely loved and recommend) and as we have edited down our daily essentials, decided we wanted to go with something that was less babylike (and would have a long lifespan for our daughter and used in many other ways).
We have bought the Longchamp Le Pliage club small shoulder bag (there is also a slightly larger version) and we literally want to keep things small (we also have an XL one for overnights and proper days out) which we love, so they match and as you all know, they last a lifetime and if they don’t, you can always send them to Longchamp to be repaired).
EDIT: With Potty Training, we upgraded our bag to a Large size as we needed to add a few more things like the folding toilet seat. The Large Size isn’t that much larger and will serve you better.
Note: we also got a Le Pliage organiser which really helps things stay tidy inside.
Toms tiny alpercatas
Cost £16 from Amazon
These have been our Summer shoes and they are perfect (and you can match with mummy and daddy too – have a look at my Amazon shop).
Liewood Bre Sandals
Costs £24 from Kidly
They cost more than other similar ones but they last a lot longer (and dare I say look much better). We have them in a variety of colours and I cannot recommend them enough.
Towelling robe and dress for swimming
Costs £24 from Jojo Maman Bebe. There is also a pull on version (without the front zip) in navy or pink.
We also got one from Gap with short sleeves (in navy), which is around £10.
Summer dresses
There are some lovely dresses currently on H&M, but you need to really look into the collection to find it.
I bought these ones for the beach or pool days – as they wash very well and there’s no need to iron them. A bargain at £5.99 and 100% cotton.
They are perfect with their little sunglasses too.
I also love this green dress (which comes in a variety of patterns in blue and pink). Costs £7.99
We also got these cotton twill shorts in every colour (perfect for nursery at £5).
Our socks are now mostly from Condor (a Spanish brand) and we like the ribbed ones more – and always knee high. Tights are also excellent.
Liewood swimsuit
We are heavy users (and you get what you pay for). There’s a similar H&M one we take to swim classes.
Simple Cotton T-shirts
These are nearly impossible to find in England, but we found them last year (and delighted they kept them on this year’s collection). They cost £3 and you can get them in pink, white or navy.
Girls shoes
Trotters Hampton canvas plimsoles (they also come in white and red), and there is another model which we also like (without laces).
We also got some similar ones from H&M in cream and a darker beige.
Simple dark jeans
Our absolutely favourite ones have been from the Gap, but they end at 24 months (so we have a few more months to enjoy). We have now bought the ones below which fit very well, but I still prefer the old ones.
Cartwheel shorts
We love ours and have in every colour and wear under dresses.
0.5tog sleeping bag
Perfect for warmer climates (we love ours). All our sleep bags are from The White Company and worth every penny.
Hair Bows
Costs £9.99 for 40 pairs from Amazon
We have found these to be very good quality and they last forever. And with the selection offered, we can match any outfit!
I will keep adding bits and pieces to this toddler girls clothes edit (and remove things as they sell out).
Happy Shopping!
