Looking for the perfect beach bag to take on your next trip? I have rounded up some personal favourites ranging from great value to designer beach bags – there is a time and a place for everything.
Wherever possible (not always!!), I have chosen beach bag models which are foldable or do not take much space in your luggage – or that you double up and use at other times (during a trip and when back home).
Here are some of my favourite beach bags:
Great value beach bags under £100
The Drop Women’s Tracy Large Canvas Detail Straw Tote
Costs £30 from Amazon
Simple and timeless, this bag will travel well and of use both for day trips and beach visits. Outstanding value and a bonus if it lasts for over a season.
I have also prepared an Amazon beach bag edit, if you’d like more ideas under £50.
Navy and beige tote
Costs £29 from Amazon
Also works great as a day trip bag.
Large woven straw tote
Costs £65 from & Other Stories
Probably one of the most versatile bags as it will fit in your suitcase perfectly and the two handles make it perfect as gives you options.
Large stripe straw bag
Costs £85 from The White Company
Simple and classic – and well made. If you are looking for a large beach bag for women, without breaking the bank, this is perfect.
Wonderful beach bags under £500
Le Pliage Re-Play Tote XL
Costs £140 from Longchamp
Longchamp is going through quite the transformation and I am here for it (although I will always be a fan of their classics).
This new range looks fabulous – and comes in a few colours. I love that you can regulate the handle size. And whatever people say, they are machine washable (I have some which are over 10 years and have aged perfectly well).
Also worth looking at their new expandable bags which are perfect for the airplane too. This is also a serious contender as a men’s designer beach bag.
Paravel Cabana Tote Bag
I am a big fan of Paravel (a US brand) and I love the simplicity of their designs. This range is also unisex and a variation of colours is available.
Santorini Maxi Bag
Costs £285 from Demelier (and comes also in white or brown, and available in smaller sizes)
I have been quite impressed with this London-based brand and how they elevate classics (at great value). This bag wont fold, but you will find a way to take it with this beautiful beach bag with you.
Dragon Diffusion leather woven beach bag
Costs £360 from Matches Fashion (and available in other colours)
Loewe large bucket bag
Probably one of the cleverest ‘reinventions’ of the classic Spanish beach basket – add some details and a zero to the price. But they are so popular and you have a variety of models to choose from Spain’s leading luxury brand. If you are looking for a large designer beach bag, this is it.
Fabulous designer beach bags over £500
Loewe + Paula’s Ibiza Canvas-Trimmed Raffia Tote Bag
This is the 2023 version of the Loewe bag (and very unisex as well). It will fold well, making it easy to put it in your suitcase. In my opinion, this is the perfect men’s designer beach bag as well.
Louis Vuitton Neverfull
Costs £1400 from Louis Vuitton (depending on pattern)
Loro Piana Suitcase Stripe Medium canvas tote bag
Costs £1535 from My Theresa
Hermes Garden Party Tote
From £1000 (depending on fabric and condition) from Vestiaire Collective.
Not in production anymore (or currently), you can find almost brand new versions on second hand marketplaces like Vestiaire Collective. Ensure you pay the extra fee to have any items physically authenticated by their team in Paris.
I can only find a link for the larger version of this bag on the UK website.
