An Aperol Spritz is nothing new (and a cocktail I do enjoy every now and then), but recently I heard about a cocktail I knew I would love from the moment I first heard its name: a limoncello spritz. So I am going to be very nice and share this very easy limoncello spritz recipe with you all!
I happened to be at Finca Cortesin again when I first heard of it and challenged Danielle, the head barman to give it a go and I have to say – I loved his version of the Limoncello Spritz.

How to Make Mrs. O’s Perfect Limoncello Spritz
The secret to a truly spectacular spritz is all in the temperature and the presentation. You want everything ice-cold, and you want a glass beautiful enough to make you feel like you are sitting on a terrace in Positano.
The Ingredients & Tools
-
60 ml Limoncello (ideally kept in the freezer beforehand)
-
90 ml Prosecco (perfectly chilled)
-
30 ml Soda water
-
Fresh mint leaves & lemon wheels for garnish
-
Plenty of fresh ice
💡 Mrs. O’s Style Tip: A proper spritz needs a generous, wide-bowled glass to hold all that ice and let the citrus aromas breathe. I love using these elegant Riedel glasses to give the drink that effortless Italian flair.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Prep the Glass: Fill your large wine glass generously with fresh ice cubes. The more ice you use, the slower it melts, keeping your cocktail crisp without watering it down.
-
Measure and Pour: Pour in your 60 ml of chilled Limoncello first, followed by the 90 ml of Prosecco. You can also use champagne.
Miss the guesswork: If you don’t want to eyeball your measurements, a sleek Bar Jigger ensures the perfect ratio every time.
-
Top and Stir: Add a splash (about 30 ml) of sparkling soda water. Take a Long-Handled Bar Spoon and give it one very gentle, elegant lift from the bottom to combine the flavours without losing those precious Prosecco bubbles.
-
The Perfect Garnish: Slap a sprig of fresh mint between your palms to release the essential oils, tuck it into the glass alongside a fresh lemon wheel, and serve immediately.
