Tired of the cold? Here are some Spring hotel ideas

Spring is here and isn’t it just gorgeous? I love this time of the year – no more coats (or not so many coats) and some wonderful destinations around the world to discover. And some are just perfect if you are planning a trip this Spring. Here are my 5 luxury hotels perfect for Spring:

Hotel Alfonso XIII, Seville, Spain

Seville is the perfect city break destination, offering a bit of culture, a bit of shopping, lots of jamon iberico and, of course, a bit of sunshine. In my book, that makes for a perfect weekend destination. I highly recommend Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection hotel as your home away from home when you visit. Avoid Summer as it gets really really hot.

Rates from £300. Click here to book Alfonso XII Hotel.

The Carlyle, New York City, USA

New York is brilliant all year round, but there is something about Spring. And Central Park. And fabulous clothes to buy. On a recent visit to the city, I stayed at The Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel and loved it. Namely the views and the monogrammed pillowcases (what a fabulous detail).

Rates from £420. Click here to book The Carlyle.

Belmond Reids Palace, Madeira, Portugal

Madeira Island is known as the pearl of the Atlantic, and the Belmond Reids Palace is, without a doubt, the Grand Dame of this incredibly beautiful island which delivers on eye candy, wine and flora. And perfect gin and tonic locations.

Rates from £280. Click here to book the Belmond Reids Palace.

Soho Farmhouse, Oxfordshire, UK

A little bit of countryside paradise an hour away from London… and from us. I first visited Soho Farmhouse with my friend Molly and have joined other friends who are Soho House Members. Non-members can visit by staying the night – and it is lovely. We love the farmhouse shop (amazing cheeses to buy) and the Sunday roast dinners.

Rates from £350. Click here to book Soho Farmhouse.

Valverde Hotel, Lisbon, Portugal

This boutique hotel in Lisbon is the latest find in my hometown of Lisbon, Portugal. I stayed for a long weekend and absolutely loved Valverde Hotel – and with a fabulous location in Lisbon’s Avenida da Liberdade, you may love it too.

Rates from £250. Click here to book Valverde Hotel.

Have you stayed at any of these hotels? Let me know your thoughts.

The closest I will get to a ski slope this season. I didn’t quite believe when the weather forecast actually said it would snow - but waking up to it this morning was pretty special. It won’t last but it’s life. Walking around today for our ‘permitted 1h of exercise’ definitely allowed for a change in scenery. ⠀
When this is all over - where would you like to go? And guess mine 🥰
Another week, another table setting, because why not? We are on our 3rd week of lockdown and I’m finding it much harder than before. The motivation to cook is dwindling but has to be done. What are you planning to cook this week? We are having zaatar chicken thighs tonight, Cottage pie tomorrow and steak Wednesday. Leave a comment below so it may inspire someone else, please. Every little helps (and thank you!)
It’s the first #PrawnThursday of 2021 and deserves to be immortalised on the feed. Our fishmonger took a little break and now I can say, it feels like proper lockdown. (For background, we discovered this great fishmonger who comes to our door every Thursday in April last year and he’s definitely made our lockdowns much better). Do you like #prawns or not so much?

Very wise words by my dear friend @molly.schoneveld. They really struck a chord. Here’s to a good first week of 2021.
As 2020 comes to an end, it will certainly be a year we won’t forget, ever. It was tragic in more ways than others, but there were also silver linings.
