Luxury Hotels with Outdoor Pools in the UK

Looking for luxury hotels in the UK with an outdoor pool for this coming Summer?

The number of luxury hotel rooms in the UK with an outdoor pool is limited – and most of these places sell out regularly, so we thought that by booking ahead, we would guarantee ourselves a room. It is a numbers game, after all.

The UK luxury hotels we picked for our UK Summer holiday

Our criteria? We would like to go to a luxury hotel in the UK with an outdoor swimming pool and lovely views – so we chose two hotels by the sea and three hotels in the countryside, and not too far from where we live.

Without further ado, here are the 5 UK luxury hotels with an outdoor pool we have chosen for our UK Summer holidays.

The Scarlet, Cornwall

The Scarlet is an adults-only hotel in Cornwall – I have been meaning to visit for a few years and 2020 will be hopefully the year.  I liked that we could pre-book set times to enjoy the hot tub pictured above and our spa treatments.

We are looking forward to beach walks and to hear the sea (I miss it so much).

Room rate: £350 per night

Four Seasons Hampshire

I have stayed at the Four Seasons in Hampshire a few years ago and have returned for spa days and to meet friends for dinner and it has always been very pleasant.

It is not a boutique hotel like the others we have chosen, but it is a solid choice and we have plenty of things to do if the weather does not cooperate. If it does, I do remember that there were plenty of sun loungers available and an outdoor jacuzzi (the pool is indoor).

Room rate: £550 per night (but we managed to get a 3 for 2 promotion, which brought it down to £350 per night).

Gara Rock, Devon

This photo sold it – but also first hand recommendations from friends who have stayed there. We found out that this UK luxury hotel also has 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and we booked one of the latter thinking we could get together with family.

The hotel also has a pool and it is very close to Salcombe, a place we really like to visit (and has some solid fish and seafood dining options).

We have family nearby so a few of us will get together (if this all happens).

Room rate: from £350 per night for most dates (but we booked the 3 bedroom apartment for 3 nights in June for under £700 which was quite a deal).

Thyme, Cotswolds

Part hotel, part country house, I think Thyme will be perfect and I am very much looking forward to it and also maybe attend a cooking class (our cooking repertoire is being tested daily with all the cooking at home).

The Langley, Buckinghamshire

I never thought I would go ‘on holiday’ near Heathrow (very near Slough) but there you go.

The Langley, which is part of The Luxury Collection as it does have a nice outdoor pool and you can book it with Marriott points.

Room rate: from £350/night or 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points

I think this list offers a good variety of luxury hotels in the UK and I will add to this as we try some more.
