50 shades of blue – Photos of the week
I am feeling a little bit “blue” this week. The cold has definitely arrived in England and I definitely feel a bit under the weather. So, to cheer me up a bit, I have gathered some photos of my actual favourite colour – blue! Blue equals blue skies and lovely water, so definitely nice things! And it seems that my clothes are indeed in 50 shades of blue.
I am a little homesick as I haven’t been to Portugal for 3 months, which is the longest ever. I was due to go this weekend, but not feeling well, I rescheduled – don’t want to be there and not enjoy it to the full. I really miss my family and can’t wait to go back.
I had a lovely time in Portugal earlier this year and really miss the sea. I love the British countryside and all, but I do miss the sea. And it seems that blue is also the colour of a lot of my summer clothes.
I last saw the sea last weekend, when I was in Genova. That reminded me of a quick stop in Portofino when I was in the area earlier this year. It is such a pretty place – need to go back!
From the Mediterranean sea in Italy, all the way to the Pacific Ocean – I love this picture I took in La Jolla, just outside San Diego. It is one of my favourite places in the world, and I can’t wait to go back next year. Do you also have a special far away place? Would love to know where it is!
And how could I not mention pools? After a 5-year hiatus, life took me to Barcelona 4 times this year and I discovered a fantastic hotel, which made me feel at home. This photo was taken on a recent 36-hour super quick trip with my girls, where we had a fabulous time sipping cocktails by the pool deck at sunset.
From Barcelona, to Rio de Janeiro, of course, where I started the year. This is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and a firm favourite in the O’Reilly household. We have been a few times and really want to go back again. South America is one of my priorities for the next couple of years and would welcome any advice, as I have only been to Rio and São Paulo (yet!).
Blue is also the main colour of the cabins of my favourite airline. I recently got to fly in a special seat – 1A – and worry not, you will read all about it soon. I loved the navy cabin, and my navy pyjamas.
And last, but not the least, I will never forget this view in South Africa. Going to the Cape of Good Hope was very meaningful to me and delighted I was able to get there, on a recent trip to Cape Town.
So, there you have it
Not 50, but quite a few shades of blue, my absolute favourite colour in the world.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend, wherever you may be!

Oh thank you!!
You just took me away on a dream trip. I love all these, but I’m laughing at how your little legs can’t reach the thing in front of you. You know I’m in love with the Rio photo. It takes me back immediately.
