Photos of the week – Summer
This week’s topic for #FriFotos is.. guess what.. Summer! Seriously, I cannot thing of anything more perfect, especially as I leave today for my annual summer trip to Portugal.
Summer, for me, means various things.
The sea or the river is a must. I saw the sea for the first time in a couple of months (seriously!) last weekend, when I went on my first cruise and stopped over in Portofino and also Barcelona. I saw a lot of water, as you can imagine!
In England, it means Pimms & Lemonade. I call it “English summer in a glass” and reminds me of great afternoons spent at a pub, by the river or in the English countryside with our amazing friends. I love it.

But summer also means long lazy lunches (seafood, grilled sardines and salad, washed down with white wine sangria), a whole day at the beach, catching up on sleep and reading.

Lunch by the beach is something the Portuguese do extremely well and I have been unable to find what I think is the perfect meal for me, anywhere in the world.
So for the next week or so, I will be doing exactly that – eating, drinking a bit of wine, reading and sleeping. No matter how many places we are lucky to be able to travel to, I will not give up my annual week in the south of Portugal. Sunsets like the ones at this champagne bar keep me going for another year. Sadly, no photos of the actual sunset, but I will ask you to visualise!

If you are starting your summer holidays this week, I hope you have a great one. If not, I shall be back in around 10 days to keep you entertained.
Obviously, the goal is to get to this stage here – I love my tanning competitions with Mr. O, both of us using SPF 30, of course!

Wow, amazing photos, definitely looks like you had a great trip. I definitely wouldn’t mind sitting outside on the deck of the hotel and drinking some of that lemonade.
Oh, I love summer (except when it’s sometimes 105F and humid, hello Chicago) and the restaurant on the water looks SO nice. FUn post, Ana!
