My favourite photos of the week – Oceans
Hello hello, it’s Friday, which means it is #FriFotos day on Twitter! This week’s topic is Oceans, which just spells H-O-L-I-D-A-Y-S!
One of my favourite beaches in the Atlantic Ocean is Quinta do Lago beach, in the Algarve, Portugal. In order to get there, you need to cross this bridge, which leads you to the lovely Gigi restaurant (famed for its clams, fresh fish and, of course, white wine sangria) and the Quinta do Lago beach, which is relatively wide and quiet (except in August!).
Continuing down the Atlantic Ocean, we arrive to South Africa and to a special place in Portugal’s history, as one of our explorers famously crossed this Cape for the first time, when trying to get to India by sea. It was renamed Cape of Good Hope and I was delighted to be given a chance to witness this spot in all its glory.
Lastly, let’s make our way to the Pacific Ocean, to the little town of Marina in California, not far from Monterey and Carmel, north of Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. This was the view from my room at the Sanctuary Resort, which I will never forget. This area is totally unspoilt and not overbuilt at all, and certainly worth a visit.
This is my contribution to this week’s Friday Photos – I love it as it takes me back to memory lane!
Wishing everyone a fab weekend, wherever you may be!
xo

Instant recognition and homesick too! How DO you keep track of 80,000 people? Fleet of secretaries! (only jealous)
Loving the new look and congrats on your success.

Ana, I like the theme and the pix! I recently posted in my FB page photos from around the Cape of Good Hope/Cape Point. Truly amazing scenery!!
I will never forget that place! I don’t set the theme, #FriFotos does
quite good as they give you a couple days notice and an excuse to look over old pics
